Veolia Environment Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition

+++ LATEST NEWS +++

Three out of Four of my African images got into the Semi-Finals in the prestigious International Veolia Environment Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition 2011….YAY!! This is the first time that I have entered 😀

The Lion Photo was taken on a Canon EOS 500D with the Canon 100-400mm zoom lens. (Usually I would have used my 5DMk2, but it wasn’t working… this was the best alternative I could buy in Tanzania)

The Cheeky Monkey and Acacia Tree were both taken on my 5DMk2 (different trip), and my 100-400mm zoom lens.

All shots were taken using the support of a Safari Beanbag.

  1. Brilliant news Sam!!!! Very well done for sure. Just goes to prove you don’t need a flash Harry setup to capture a winning image, it comes from within.

    Cheers

    • Hi Flemming, soooo good to hear from you! Thanks for the comments, it means a lot! It’s nice to be recognized for something that you are passionate about! Yes, it was definitely a trying journey, and getting used to a camera that seemed to have dials in all the wrong places LOL 🙂
      Should try and catch up on Skype soon… the weekend?
